Into the Light Therapy
Dr Clare Evans
Clinical Psychologist, CBT accredited, EMDR Therapist and Specialist Autism Assessor
Finding the path forward when facing low mood, anxiety, or trauma can feel overwhelming. My name is Dr Clare Evans, a Clinical Psychologist and whether you are wanting support with specific mental health challenges or seeking a new perspective on your future, I offer a warm, compassionate and professional space where you can feel truly heard.
Taking that first step toward therapy is a brave act of self-care and personal growth. Together, we will work at your own pace to build a trusting connection rooted in safety and respect. I believe that this alliance is central to the development of trusting collaboration that will help unlock key change.
Sessions will focus on helping you understand your unique experiences while equipping you with practical tools to manage life's complexities. By gently unpicking the experiences and cycles that hold you back, change becomes possible; leaving you feeling empowered, validated, and ready to move toward a brighter future with peace and confidence.
My approach is individually tailored, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and elements of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).
I work with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including (but not limited to):
-
Anxiety, panic, OCD, social anxiety, and phobias
-
Depression and low mood
-
Low self-esteem
-
Self-criticism and shame
-
Relationship challenges
-
The effects of significant life changes, including loss.
-
Trauma and complex PTSD (C-PTSD)
-
Neurodivergence, including autism, ADHD, and related traits or patterns
If you are considering therapy or an assessment and would like to discuss what might be helpful for you, please get in touch and we can explore whether my skills might be a good fit.
I offer both face to face and online therapeutic interventions and assessments. Virtual therapy is accessible and can be done from the comfort of your home for clients across the country but for those who prefer face to face sessions, I am able to see clients at a clinic in Bournemouth/Poole area.
When appropriate, I am happy to collaborate with other professionals, schools and I can also work with family members, where this may improve communication, help in developing a shared understanding and to aid the breaking tricky patterns for long term progress.
Additionally, in collaboration with a wider team, I offer full NICE guideline contingent autism assessments for both children and adults. These assessments help to give families much needed answers and validation around neurodiversity questions, leading to both understanding and adaptations to environments.
I look forward to potentially working with you, allowing you to feel both hopeful and empowered for the future.
